Greetings...Recently, we bought a well kept 2005 Hurricane 196 ff fun deck off of good old Craigslist. It has a 90 horse Yamaha 4-stroke. The good news it had ONLY 100 HRS on it.....the bad news it had ONLY 100 HRS on it!!? ( 10 HRS PERYEAR!!?) The sea trial was good, then 'things' just started tohappen. Some things I had planned on; impeller, etc., others, not somuch..high pressure fuel pump, etc. 'LUCKILY?'...We have used a local marine tech. that comes to your house and he came.....5 differnt times...BOTTOMLINE...Took the boat out yesterday-----every thing ran GREAT----YEA!!!! Just wanted to share some good news, one boat owner to another----thanks for 'listening'.

Yeah, "low hours" doesn't always translate into "low maintenance".  But once you get the "bugs" out, you'll have a dependable motor.

The better news is that at least you're using your boat!  We're in cabin fever here up north!

Post some pics of your boat when you get the chance!

Yea its typically the guys that never run their boats that are always having problems when they pull them out that 1 time per year.  It almost seems to me that the more you run it the less problems you have.

Enjoy the new boat..............now if the weather would just start to warm up some!

How funny, 89checkmate...and smart!? I figure if you don't count the frustration and the possibilities of breakdowns in the Everglades....I will comeout "ok " of spending anything just less of what a new unit would cost!?? How's that for tring to stay positive, plus I'm supporting your professions wellfare fund. Blessings.
