@Doc, my guess is now you float around 30-35MPH based on size/weight of boat and existing power.
How much is 'more speed' 5MPH? Sometimes prop changes can achieve that if all you do is rip out to a fishing hole or cruise at top speed. If you use your boat for multiple purposes, you may need more than just 'more speed'
If your ultimate goal is more top end speed, as much HP as you can afford combined with the right prop could push you around 50-55MPH. The maximum HP rating is 200HP for this boat.
However, if you want improved speed but not as fast as possible (target mid 40s) then you should be looking to repower at 75% of max rating and above (150HP or greater)
If you're looking for improved speed as above, better hole shot, better for watersports, etc then start you calculations around 85% of max rating and above (175HP or greater)
The beauty of extra HP is you can always dial it back to lower RPMs to achieve the same speed as at higher RPMs on a smaller engine, and in some cases even realize better fuel economy.
While there is no exact measurements, hopefully this information will help guide you in the right direction.
BTW, I have the max 200HP on mine (SS188 but similar weight) and I have it prop'd for watersports and still can hit 50-52MPH.

I am running a 150 Merc 4 stroke on my 2013 226 Fundeck It came with a 3 blade prop 15 pitch. it runs 40 on the GPS with a full load & pulls tubers easily. I want to try a 17 pitch prop & also a 4 blade in either 15 or 17 to see how they perform.
