We we run water directly into the bilge ara, the automatic pump does not come on but the water drains but we are not sure where to?  When we use the manual switch, it comes out the side.    This is a 2014 Fun Deck.

@Corrie, are you testing this with the boat on its trailer or in the water?  Do you physically see the water drain or the water levels drop?

Typically, the manual switch on the pump when run will pickup small amounts of water in the bilge.  However, it also has an auto float switch built in.  Until the water level is much higher, it won't kick in.

Since the float switch is built into the pump, it is the same pump that will pick up and pump the water out the side as you've suggested.

Add more water and see if the result changes.

Check the fuse on the wire that goes directly to the battery. If this is blown, the auto function won't work
