Livewell question on a 2002 fundeck gs 211

Hello I just recently purchased a 2002 gs 211 fundeck. This may be a dumb question but when I turn the livewell on the water pumps in from the bottom of the livewell where the screen is. In my past experience on other boats the water usually pumps in from the top. This happens with the switch on auto and recirculate. Thanks

    The baitwell design on my boat has the water pump in from the top (coming through the upper side of the tank) with a screw-in fitting that restricts water flow.  The drain has a screw-in tube that has a strainer on the top for water to flow into to keep the water level in the tank from overflowing.

    My previous boat also had the water coming in from the top.
