Here is a specification comparison. Given that if you had identical props on the V6 vs. inline 4 200HP versions from Yamaha, RPMs are identical and weight difference is 18lbs so either one would provide the same increase in speed over the 150HP.
http://outboards.findthebest.com/compare/172-174-192/Yamaha-VF200-vs-Yamaha-F200-vs-Yamaha-Z200-TXRThere is a Hurricane test for the 217 with a 150 HP on it (http://204.232.205.47/~nauticgl/files/performancetests/HUR_Hurricane_SunDeck_217_OB.pdf) topping out around 42. My guess is that with the 200HP you'd see anywhere from 48-52MPH based on the boat size, weight, and hull design. Again the prop with have an impact on several MPHs.Hope this helps.------------------------------------------------------------------------------2010 Hurricane SS 188 OB

I have a 217 with a 150 yamaha 4 stroke and wondering how much speed difference to change to a 200 in line four stroke or maybe even a V6 200. Any thoughts of how much speed I would pick up with either?

Thanks a lot. The links were very helpful. Seems that the v6 is the way to go for best performance.
