36 volt or 24 volt trolling motor on a FD226F?

Im leaning towards the 36 volt trolling motor on my new FD226, anybody out there have any thoughts on whether the 80lb thrust is enough for this 22 ft boat or would the 112lb thrust be a better choice?

I guess that depends on how you expect to use the motor. I have a 24V MinnKota 80lb thrust on my 23 foot SD237. I primarily use it to maneuver while I'm fishing, not troll, and it works great. The max speed I can get is about 2.5 to 3 MPH.If you want trolling speed, then the 36V would probably be your better choice if you don't mind the extra battery weight..2012 SD237 I/O Mercruiser 5.0L MPI ECT/ Bravo 32012 Load Rite Elite Tandem axle trailer
