snap cover snap replacement

All, this weekend we where uncovering our boat and a snap broke off on the boat.  How on earth do you replace a snap?  it is above the fresh water intake cap.  This is for a 2013 Hurricane SS188

You can get a kit like this to keep on board:

If the screw stripped out then I would coat the screw with something like this:

Also, something I just learned this year is that once a season put chapstick or vaseline on the snap.  Makes it much easier to remove.
