Outboard Motor Height - 2003 Sundeck 217

I am interested in any information concerning outboard motor mounting height and prop size for my 2003 Sundeck 217. I have a 2008 175 hp Evinrude E-Tech. The boat was purchased with a Solas Rubix 14 x 19 SS prop that achieves 41 mph at 4800 rpms at wot . The recommended wot range is 4850 to 5850. There is one open mounting hole showing above the top bolts on the motor mount.

Sounds like you may be over proped.  May want to try a smaller pitch...........maybe 17.  If you look at Evinrude's performance reports for that engine.  Most of the boats are running a 14.25-14.75 x 17p prop. to get at the top of the rpm range.  Ideally you want to be as close to 5850 as possible when you have the motor trimmed up with the lightest load possible onboard.  

If you are not having ventilation problems or trim issues the mount may be OK.  I think you will probably be in the mid 40's with the right prop.
