I have a 2015 2690 and would like to know which hole on a Yamaha 300 mounting bracket would you use?

I am having trouble with cavitation and would like to know if dropping the engine would fix that problem.

A 2690 Hurricane with a 300 Yamaha should be mounted in the 2nd hole from the top.
