My new boat will be arriving next week, and I am getting very excited. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or advice regarding the SD 188?

Hang on... You will be so glad you went with the 150. I too own a SS 188 powered by a Yamaha 150. It will cruise at 48 MPH with 3 on board!! Good times....

Congrats garrett575. I also own a 2013 SS188 with Yamaha 150. You will love it.

150 is a great motor and the right pairing for this boat. Many of them come with 115HP which is undersized. 150HP gives you the right amount to use the boat for cruising and watersports.
Congratulations on your new boat. You'll love it. I have a 2010 and really enjoy the boat going into my fifth season. I'll admit I waived on the engine at first. Dealer suggested 135HP, I said 150HP and before the ink was dry I switched to a 175HP. These things happen.... Congrats on becoming a Hurricane Owner! Lots of SS188 owners here in the forum, so advice should be plentiful.

woot! I have a 2013 ss188 with a 115yam. Love the boat. As stated above, 115 is a bit undersized but it is adequate for our needs. Even when we have 9 people on board. The trick for us is that fine line of pulling someone in the water and trying to get on a plane. with the 150, it should be easier.
If you are planning on pulling a tube, make sure you get a y connector and connect them to the bow clips. Unless they changed the sky pole, it is not rated for tubes..2013 Hurricane SS188
