Port Console Sink

I just received my SS 188. The boat is equipped with a sink in the port side console. The sink has a pump faucet that leads to a tube under the console. What are the recommended uses for this sink? What do people connect to the hose under the console?

The tube is attached to the base of the pump and the hose terminates in a portable water tank under the galley sink. If your boat is brand new, make sure you have the fresh water tank (jug).
