Anyone else figure out an ingenious way to add placed to put rod holders for trolling without drilling a lot of holes in the boat? I have a 187....I think I might be on to something but Im reaching out to see what others have done....Im in the process of making a PVC rocket launcher... removed the ski pole and I am going to mount the base in that hole.
Whos got thoughts??

SeaSucker makes very cool products to prevent putting holes in the boat. A few forum members have bought them and are very happy with their performance. I've seen and checked these products out and they work really great.
Here's a link to their site:

I like your idea, may have to borrow it... My Hurricane has the open area just in front of the motor where I put a cooler. Mounted rod holders to the outside of the cooler and away we went. Not perfect, but works for the little amount of fishing we do.

same here..im just getting into fishing... need something i can do on the boat alone since i work a lot of odd hours and have week days off...NOTE the vertical PVC is 1 1/4. thats the biggest size that would fit in the whole... I also put a screw through the T so i can remove the device and just leave the vertical piece. ( vertical piece is screwed into the bottom mount just like the ski pole)

PVC looks like it might not be strong enough... switching to this...picked it up at the local boat shop... just need to add a little bit of an extension to the bottom and ream out the top metal bracket from the ski pool and it fits right in!
