Hurricane 232 with 200 Johnson OB _ Prop Questions

Recently acquired a 2001 Hurricane 232 GS with a 200 HP Johnson.  It came with a 15X17 Prop on it and seller said that was a power prop for skiing.  Also came with a 14.5 X !7 prop he said was a speed prop.  Been a long time since I had an outboard and I am confused by this, seems like the 17 inch prop is 17 pitch no matter what the hub diameter is.  Could I go to a 19 or 21 pitch and pick up more top in.  Right now, hitting about 24 at 4500.00 rpms with boat trimmed out.  Any suggestions?

Is it a ficht motor. If so it should be turning 6000 rpm max at wide open throttle. 4500 rpm is not making any power.

Yeah that rpm is way low, you need a lower pitch, bring your rpms up and should see a increase in speed too.

Your prop should get you in the max range rpm at WOT.  I also have a 15x17 prop on my 2000 Johnson 150 and it gets me near 5400 rpm at WOT with speed in mid 30s.  And that is with too much gear (read weight) on the boat.

Is 4500 your rpm at WOT?  I am definitely no expert, but that seems extremely low as you need to be near 5500 rpm at WOT for that motor.  Per the West Marine website:  A two-inch decrease in pitch results in an increase of 300 to 400 rpm.
