does anyone know what the water button on dashboard does

I have a 2002 hurricane fundeck gs 201 and don't know what the water button does when flipped. Also was out last weekend and my rpm were running high but after awhile it went back to normal???

    Would that be for the fresh water system?  Mine is labeled "Galley Pump", and turns on the pump for the fresh water system on the boat.

    Mine is for the fresh water system.  If you turn on, then the water handle will work.  If off, nothing comes from water handle when activated.
