2001 Hurricane 170 GS propeller selection and speed

I just bought a used 2001 Hurricane 170 GS with motor absent.

I bought and installed a used 1996 2-stroke carbureted Evinrude 115 4-cylinder outboard.

What propeller should I use and what speed should I get.

We will be using it more for skiing than speed.

I was thinking about a 19 pitch and expecting about 40 mph.

Is that close or do I more likely need a 21 pitch.

Best wishes.

I had the same boat with a 2 stroke 2001 Johnson 115HP on it.  I'm positive I had run a 19p on it (don't have the boat to confirm unfortunately).  Either way, with just me in it with a fresh clean hull on a clear day, I hit 45MPH, so your speed is pretty much bang on.

Actually the 19 I bought would only turn about 4800 rpm.

I ordered a 17 and it made 5500 rpm and ran 42 mph and had much more acceleration for skiing.
