2000 Hurricane Fun Deck 196 Captain's Chair Replacement

I purchased a new telescopic swivel for the captain's chair. I tried to remove the existing screws in the pedestal and they would not come out, they just turn. I need to know how the stock pedestal mount is attached.

    The screws may have stripped out in the deck.  Try wedging a flat head screwdriver or pry bar between the pedestal base and the deck or between screw head and base, while unscrewing.  This should put tension on screw thread that allow them to be removed.

    Just replaced my chair. Dealer had to cut a hole in the deck to get to the nuts that held the bolts of the pedestal. I originally had thought I was dealing with screws!

    That is what I thought when the screws just turned. That must have been installed before the boat was assembled. Need to think of how bad I want the new pedestal.
