I am planning to install a trolling motor on our FD 226.
What are the recommendations for shaft lenght and thrust?
What have been the install problems and solutions?

I have a '92 FD226 I built strictly for fishing (crappie fishing to be specific, lots of trolling) and mounted a 112 pound thrust MinnKota Terrova with I-Pilot, 54" shaft. It misses the front gate by a couple inches (allowing the gate to still be operable). Look for my posts on my boat, and you can see pics.
