fuel guage stuck on full

I HAVE A 2014 198fd with a Faria fuel/volt guage. The fuel guage stays stuck on full all the time when the key is on. Works fine with the key off. I unplugged the sending unit & turned the key back on. It is still stuck on full. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Bad sender or the float is stuck. You can remove the sender and slide the float up and down while watching the gauge. Make sure fuel tank is not full or boat is in a bow up angle.

Also check back of gauge for generally pink wire to fuel gauge and make sure it is not grounded with the switch on.
