My radio cuts out while in use in both AM and FM bands.

My radio cuts out in the AM/FM use. The CD and Aux inputs work well and do not have a cut out issue. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot?

Check the antenna. Some radios have a feature that prohibits weak stations/static,called "squelch".
I thought it odd mine wouldnt pick up but 1 station, when the stereo at the cabin would pick up several. I found that the wire antenna (called a diapole type- T-Shaped wire) was just laying there. I straightened it out and glued it to the front of the console. Works much better. Next little project is to add a rubber whip style antenna.
