Help w/ Yamaha F115

Can anyone give me guidance I where the loose cable in the photo should be attached? Obviously there is one attached but suddenly today after loading I find this cable hanging loose which I've never noticed before. I have looked but cannot find where it should go.

I have 2 - this is the top one that I think is yours - this is on F150. -
