Fundeck oil tank

Im trying to tighten the screws or plastic wing nuts on my fundeck 236OB. Im turning clockwise but they seem to be loosening. Is there a certain procedure here? And please help with answering how I would ever remove and cracked or faulty oil tank. Omg they must have built the boat around it.

Those plastic nuts are spring loaded and they have no threads
