removal of upholstery Seat Backs from full fiberglass fun deck1995

My upholstery needs recovering. Of course the lower seat cushions simply lift up and off however the Backs are fastened to and thru the fiberglass. Does anyone no of a way to release the backs other than to slide a hacksaw blade in behind and hack off the fasteners. The Fasteners appear to be similar to a ring nail. They are not at the seams/tufts but appear to be inside and under the foam. Bizarre. Any hel out there

Mine lift out. It's a two part bracket.

It would certainly make sense that the backrests would release from the hull by lifting up. Like many, I have owned multiple boats, classic automobiles for that matter, and they all have had removable upholstery.Generally you would lift the cusions up to release them from their fastener. For some reason none of the many backrest cushions in this Hurricane will budge from there installed position.
    Many thanks for your thoughts.

My stern bolster and bow side bolsters lift out but there is a series of screws on the bottom that need to be removed first.

But how do you access the screws?  Even after removing the seat cushions, and looking up at the bottom of the seat back cushions, I can't see the attaching screws
