Hard to steer the boat

I just took delivery of a 2018 FD-216 a couple weeks ago.
Overall like the boat.
My only issue is high steering effort.
The boat is equipped with the hydraulic steering but the effort it takes to steer the boat is very high. Way to high in my opinion.
Trying tight manuvers light getting it into my slip is unacceptable.
Has anyone else had steering issues with a comparably equipped boat.
Your feedback regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest reaching out to your selling Dealer? They can run the boat with you to verify this is operating properly and replace any needed parts.

You have hydraulic steering but probably not power steering. Here's a good link with the explanation of the difference and what might cause the tight steering.

for what its worth, I just had my Seastar rebuilt and while it is better it is still not super easy to steer. It seems at high speeds with the motor in a turn it is harder to come back to center.1999 Hurricane Fundeck 226 (Sold)
