GPS/Chart Plotter Mounting

Purchased a Garmin echomap 73 cv for my new Hurricane 191 and am trying to figure best mounting option. I’ve been advised against flush mount.
The included bracket will bring the unit right to the edge of the “hood” on the cockpit dash but that would restrict the ability to tilt the screen. I’ve purchased a Ram Mount that will get the screen up higher and enable me to tilt the screen but aesthetically it doesn’t look as nice.
Anyone mounted a 7” screen GPS on their boat? Any thoughts/advice?
