2016 SD 187 Windshield hinge

The opening section of my windshield has a screw that keeps the folding section from being slid out the top and keeps it centered. It's now stripped out and won't stay in place. Makes the window a pain to open and close.
I'm thinking about just drilling a hole for a new screw at the bottom to keep it centered.
Anyone tried this or made a better repair?
