New 187 SD Owner debating motor size

Good afternoon all! First time poster...
Literally pulling the trigger as we speak on one of the leftover 187's a local marine has on the lot. Question for you all.... 115 hp enough for a boat of this weight? Mostly Intracoastal runs, here in Florida.. Sandbar hopping, cruises up to St. Augustine.. No plans for water sports really, but just worried 115 might be.. underwhelming.
Previously had a FD with a 200, so I know the comparison will be vast, but would most find it adequate for my desired style of boating?

the 115 hp is fine if you don't use for water sports. You should hit around 37 mph top speed. My SS 188 hits about 44 MPH with a 150 HP Yamaha.

@sullmate What prop are you using with you 115? Any problems with your hole shot when taking seven people on board?

I am using a 14.5 X 17 in pitch aluminum prop on my 150 HP Yamaha. No problems with my hole shot.

We have a Yamaha 175 HP on our 2016 187. I think it is perfect. 48 MPH and gets on plane in less than 3 seconds. It also uses 87 octane gas vs the 200 which takes 93.
