Motor not working on engine hatch cover.

Anyway/suggestions on how to open the engine cover on a 2007 194 GS when the motor for the hatch lift doesn't work?  Can't access the pin to remove it to manually lift the hatch.

    Just checked with my dealer.  He advised that there should be a release pin on the actuator, it might be accessible through the hatch door where the battery is located.  Maybe one of the two locations shown below:
