Ski tow bar

I'll be picking up a 2021 sundeck 187 at the end of the month and have been reading an awful lot about not towing tubes with the ski bar...whats the darn thing there for then? I was hoping I could pull a 2 person tube with it. Can you tow a wake boarder with it?

I guess the drag is too much for the pylon's rating.

For tubing, I use my ski eye which has a more robust weight rating.  I have found using the SportsStuff Booster Ball a great addition to towing the tubes.  I don't tow the tubes without it, keeps the rope from burying itself in the wake/water.

I have seen those. I will have to give it a try.  Im assuming on the outboard Sundeck there's an ski eye on each side of the transom so the rope goes around the motor?

I've used this with good success on my previous outboard boat, it connects to your stern lift eyes and is long enough to go well past your motor, some models have a float near were you attach the rope:


There is this design as well that attached to your outboard, this is on the Overton's website, but I'm sure there are other suppliers that offer it as well:

Great thanks alot..yeah ill probably stick with the 20 dollar harness for now lol can't wait to give it a try
