What size steering wheel for 188SS

I want to change out the steering wheel on my 188SS.  I know the diameter I need, but I'm seeing 1/2" nut and 5/8" nut.  Do I need to remove the current wheel to determine which one I need or does Hurricane use one of the two as standard?

    Here's what I got:

    If it is not hydraulic steering it will be half inch if it is hydraulic it is five eights.

    Thanks!  It's not hydraulic steering.  I did actually remove the cover and check today.  The nut on the inside is 3/4" nut, which seems a little odd.
