I am looking at drilling a hole on my sun deck 187 for a rod holder. Any ideas where a good mount location is that will not mess with the integrity of the boat. I don’t want to use the rail mounts. I want something permanent. I was thinking next to the tandem cup holders in the bow of the boat. Thanks

I would consider using a "Mate Series" rod holder. It replaces your cup holder so you won't have to cut a new hole. It is a combination rod holder/ cup holder, stainless (expensive!) or plastic.
