How best to mount a Garmin 93sv Echomap chartplotter on a Sundeck188?

After running my prop into some rocks on my 1-year-old boat I have decided I need a GPS chartplotter. I am looking at the subject chartplotter, but I imagine it is way too big to fit in the same spot as the existing stock depth finder. Anyone have any good suggestions / solutions?
I see it is waterproof, so I suppose I could mount it in front of the minimal windscreen, but I am thinking that might put it pretty far away from me, and also would mean that any mounting bracketry would need to be removed in order to get the boat canvas on. The boat is normally in a covered slip in-season, so the only time the boat canvas goes on is during the winter.
