Are Yamaha Helm Master EX Digital Controls worth the extra expense?

I have placed an order for my very first boat, a Hurricane 235 SD with a Yamaha F250XB engine. However, I am considering adding Yamaha digital electronic control (vs mechanical/cable) to my new boat order, including the Yamaha F250XCB digital motor. The articles I've read indicate DEC provides improved reliability, easier shifting, and more precise throttle control. While this upgrade to digital comes with a price increase, I'm wondering if a new boater will appreciate these benefits, and will I later regret not upgrading to digital control. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this subject.

Yes. If you can afford it, get it. Digital is more exact. Also fuel flow and MPG are good to know instantly.

Thank you for your helpful reply.
I’ve decided to go for it; I’ve changed my order to add the Yamaha F250XCB digital engine with associated digital helm throttle and 6Y8 digital tach and speedo gauges. (The cost increase is about $3500.)
