Should I add electric trim tabs on my new Hurricane?

I’ve ordered a new 2022 Hurricane 235 SD with a Yamaha 250hp OB.
Has anyone added electric “trim tabs” to this deck boat or similar model? I’m looking for any advice or experiences you can share.
Thank you.

It is essential not to mess up with it. We all know that cars are expensive to repair, but if it is about yachts, it is even worse with the costs. There are fewer second-hand pieces than you could expect, which means it would be harder to repair them even if you have the right amount of money. It is essential to ask for the help of a specialist. When I was practicing my driving, I asked for a driver from some miami boat rentals vistayachts , and he helped me not make any faults while ruling my machine, so I would advise you to do the same to keep your machine property safe.

Great question about the trim tabs! I actually work with Miami Yacht https://miami-yacht.com/ and we have several vessels in our fleet with electric trim tabs. From a charter operation perspective, they're absolutely worth it - especially in Miami waters where you're dealing with varying sea conditions. Electric trim tabs make a huge difference in fuel efficiency and ride comfort, particularly when you're running in choppy bay conditions or heading out to the Atlantic side.
For a Hurricane 235 SD with that 250hp Yamaha, I'd definitely recommend adding them. The improved performance and stability will pay for themselves over time, and if you ever decide to charter your boat or use it commercially, having quality trim tabs is practically essential. The passengers really notice the difference in ride quality.
One thing I'd suggest - don't cheap out on the installation. Make sure whoever installs them really knows what they're doing, because proper placement makes all the difference. We've had to fix a few boats where trim tabs were installed incorrectly and it caused more problems than it solved.
If you need any recommendations for installers in the Miami area who specialize in deck boats, feel free to reach out. Happy to share what we've learned from maintaining our charter fleet!
