Does anyone have a fix for the speedometers with a Yamaha 150 motor that continually quits?

Since new my speedometer has worked only about 10% of the time. Has been check out every year since new by dealer and they say there is no fix that pressure line from engine plugs up to easily. They say poor design by Yamaha. Very frustrating.
