Anyone have any experience /suggestions for mounting a ski mirror on a fundeck helm area ?

Had the same need on my FD196OB. I did a temporary install of an old convex mirror from a airplane with zip ties. I rigged it to the bimini top frame and it worked to tow a kid around on the tube for the weekend. For something more permanent I plan to buy one I saw at Academy Sports, it clamps to the edge of the windshield or wherever with rubber jaws. Even with an observer on board, I always like to see my riders.

Would a motorcycle mirror work? You would have to attach a fitting somewhere on the helm to receive the mirror - to screw it into something.

A Ski Image mirror/mounting on the side of the helm worked. Purchased from Overtons

4th of July and still no permanent mirror. I have purchased two mirrors and can figure no satisfactory way to install either. Windshield clip-on is no good with the little "instrument splash shield" on a FunDeck, not strong enough. And every spot I can find to mount the base for the screw-on one gives an angle the mirror won't work with or fouls the bimini top. I think they shipped me a left handed mirror. Kid flying in today, so back to zip ties. Anybody have a photo of a ski mirror on a FD?

I finally found something that works for my FD196. The mounting bracket screws on the front of the helm and the mirror it easily removed and adjusted. I didn't like the windshield clip on version either. Its avail at Overtons and Bass pro shop

i used a suction cup one from overtons and mounted it on the port side over the bathroom door. it works great. just angle it so you can see behind you while driving. SD 20002012 Hurricane SD2000
