For the record, the speeds I reported in my earlier post were speedometer readings, not GPS. Many speedos are inaccurate, but also consider the extra drag of the instrument. The estimated top speed of my motorcycle dropped 20mph when I installed a speedometer.

I have a 2000 SD 2100 w/ 5.7 EFI that will flat out get it! 19P SS. I've only seen 52 on my speedo with just me in the boat, but the Sea Ray with the 454 said his was at 53 and I just kept pulling away! Lol. I also hit 50 with 9 people in the boat! Hard to believe, but I think it's true. Think I need to try a GPS.

:) I have an SS 201 with the 5.0 Mercruiser 265 horse power. With only me on board, a light chop on the lake and a light fuel load I averaged after four runs 56 mph by GPS and 55 mph by speedometer. Beside the speed what I found impressive was the accuracy of the speedometer, it read within 1 to 2 mph of the GPS.

GS211 with Honda 150, 35mph @ 6000rpm.  I was told bottom paint is costing me 3-5mph, don't know if thats true but my top speed seems low compared to others on this forum.  Prop is stock honda 15.5x13 3 blade.

My 2000 GS 201 has a 2000 Yamaha 150 HP V-6 2 stroke and I have seen 54mph wide open by myself, top down, trimmed out, and on pure gasoline.  Engine tops out at 5400rpm.  I don't run it for long that way but it is a lot of fun!

Is that on GPS? That sounds insanely fast for a 150.

i have a 237 sundeck with a honda 225 BF on the rear and she get up to  37 mph plus or minus ...with two adults and and a full tank of gas.     i was hoping for a little more but its a heavy boat.   i pull her with a 2500 sierra dmax and she knows its back there.    no complaints.    Ive see the same boat fitted with a yamaha 150 and a yamaha 200.......they have to ride like a dog.

My 2017 ss 188  with a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke, with a 14,5 x 17 pitch prop will do 44 mph at 5600 rpm, speedo reading. Prop is aluminum. No bimini deployed and one person in the boat. I tried a stainless steel michigan prop 14.25 x 15, I picked up 200 rpm and LOST 3 mph in top speed. I will sell the stainless prop for $150 plus shipping.
