Hull damage

I ran aground on an oyster bar and did some damage. Some damage consisted of chips down to the fiberglass. I fixed the chips however, the scratches underneath are pretty bad. Wondering even to mess with it or leave well enough alone. I would assume minor damage like that would not affect boat performance?

@scottybrucker. If the scratches are truly cosmetic and not below the gel coat then you're correct that they're fine. Will they affect performance? Sure, any rough, uneven surface will generate additional friction however cosmetic scratches would generate no noticeable degradation in performance.

@scottbrucker ... still, you might want to have this looked at. Chance are you're fine to have this repair done in the off-season, but just to be sure, have someone who works on fiberglass every day tell you that.

@scottybrucker ... ask your local dealer to recommend a local marine upholstery shop.
