Anyone add stern wash down to SD 187 I/O?

Hey Group!
I'm a new owner of a SD 187 I/O! Love the boat so far. Mine did not come from the dealer with the stern wash down. Of course seeing that button on the dash and not having it do anything makes me want to do this project.
So any tips or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
B

I could not begin to tell you how to begin but I will tell you how much we are glad we have the washdown. we trailer boat everywhere we go and after a long day on the water it is great to take a quick rinse off and wash down stuff before heading home. Most of the time we will stop somewhere for dinner so we will wash the sunscreen off and by the time we pull out of the water we are ready to head to dinner.
I will say I would like a longer hose so we can use the hose more inside the boat opposed to standing on the stern. maybe email the customer service folks and ask for a parts list and then that might give you an idea of the magnitude of the project. I also will say I would like a more powerful stream of water.
I see there are some after market wash down kits, this one looked pretty simple

Besides the spraying components, you'll need a fresh water tank installed with a fill & vent location unless you are OK with using the water you're floating in. You may want to consider a recessed spray head enclosure.Attached are a couple of pics of the one Hurricane put on my boat when I ordered it: ITC Marine makes it, here's a link to their website2012 SD237 I/O Mercruiser 5.0L MPI ECT/ Bravo 32012 Load Rite Elite Tandem axle trailer

Just an update, I completed this project over the weekend. Installed the Jabsco 6.0 gpm pump ($170) along with a 16 gallon tank ($40 ebay) and the ITC chrome shower/door ($85). It also took another $20 from Home Depot for hose and wires. Only complication was that the 5 amp breaker on the dash rocker switch wasn't large enough for the pump. Wired into the 10 amp accy switch and it works like a champ!

Looks like a factory install, UncleB, even the components you used are the same as what is on my boat! Great job! Thanks for posting the pics!2012 SD237 I/O Mercruiser 5.0L MPI ECT/ Bravo 32012 Load Rite Elite Tandem axle trailer

Hey UncleB, to keep the water in the tank fresh and prevent it from growing things in it, you may want to use a chlorine bleach solution that has worked for me:1/4 teaspoon pure chlorine bleach (NOT with detergent) per gallon of water.2012 SD237 I/O Mercruiser 5.0L MPI ECT/ Bravo 32012 Load Rite Elite Tandem axle trailer

I found the same ITC transom shower for $69.95 at www.replacementboatparts.com. They also have the tanks and fittings... no pumps, though.
