Just bought a 2003 187 SunDeck. trying to move captains chair back but seems stuck or I'm using

Just bought a 2003 187 Sundeck.  trying to move captains chair back but seems stuck or I'm using wrong lever.  Can anyone please advise?

    The slider or the lever may be defective - There is only one that would move this back and forth.
