Live well operation

I just purchased a 2004 Hurricane Fundeck GS201 with a 150 Yamaha OB. I found the freshwater pump (which did not work) in the bilge area and replaced. It is powered on the switch panel via the freshwater switch. I am thinking this will pump water to the front Live well. My question is what does the bilge pump switch control? Is there a way to circulate water without drawing fresh water?

    I meant to say what does the live well switch control? Not bilge pump. It works fine. Is there a way to circulate water in the live well without drawing water from the rear of the boat? FYI I don't have a fresh water holding tank that I know of. The sink is a manual pump, and I have no wash down hose.
