No, it's not a Hurricane.. It is a 1977 Deckboat "Deckette" 16.5ft. w/ Chrysler 70hp. The word Deckboat was a brand name in those days. A versatile fish, ski, cruise boat. The shape of our modern Hurricane hulls is vastly superior in rough water. This old tub would smash a wave into the air and then drive under it. Rear-facing passengers in the bow seat would never see it coming. Hilarious!

Finally took delivery of my new 188 this week and got her in the water. Compared to the fishing boat I had it feels like a Mercedes. BTW, Erickson Marine in Hastings, MN was an absolute first class outfit to deal with from the purchasing experience, to the delivery and a 4 hour walk through and test drive. Happy Boating!
