Diode on Nav/Achor Switch
How does that diode work
Doe it isolate the Nav from the Achor light
Would that cause my anchor light to work when my Anchor/Nav will noy

The diode acts like a check valve for the flow of current through the switch. The diode is directional in that it only lets current flow in one direction. It keeps the Nav lights (red/green) off when the anchor light (white) is on. This shows other boaters that you are stationary. Flip it the other way and both anchor and nav lights should come on. This combination shows other boaters you are underway.
If you flip the switch to Nav and only the Nav lights come on then you probably have a bad diode in the switch. If you get nothing with the switch in Nav position, I'd suspect a bad switch or loose wire.

Check to make sure the wiring is connected properly or not corroded to the switch. If all is good there, then contact your Hurricane dealer and order a new switch.

Yea, I don't think the diode is replaceable in these switches. You basically have to replace the entire switch. Some switches are DPDT types that don't even have a diode.

THat is my problem. In the Nav position the Nav light comes on. in the Nav/anch position, nothing come on. Based on your answer it musy be the diode

but does the all-around white light (aka "anchor" light come on when in nav position? If not then I assume the bulb has been checked, etc.
