Trailer bunkers

I have a 1999 Hurricane fun deck 201 with a magic tilt trailer. The bunkers stick out about 6 in past the end of the boat. Can I cut about 8" off them so they don't intwerfer with the speedometer or transducer?

I don't see any problem with it. I would just make sure that the tongue weight is good. If it is to heavy you will need to move the boat back. If weights are good then just peel the carpet back,cut the bunks and reinstall the carpet.
