livewell not working light is on but not pumping

Is the pump running?  You should be able to hear it.  On my boat, I have a problem getting the live well working at the start of just about every season.  First thing to check is to be sure the valve is open on the inlet and outlet lines, and then make sure you can hear the pump run when you flip the switch.

If all above is OK, but still not working, it is most likely that the pump is not primed.  I have to do this practically every year.  Here is a tip that works on my boat to prime the pump.  Find a calm and deserted patch of water.  Turn on the livewell pump, put the boat in reverse, and back the boat until water starts to flow through the system.  It may take a while to get it to work.  You need to have someone watching the live well to tell you when water starts flowing.
