Does anyone with an I/O use a bilge heater?

I leave my 217 SD in the water all year here in East Tennessee and have it winterized. I would like to try using a bilge heater instead so I could still get out on some of the nice days in late fall any early spring. Very seldom see any ice on the water though the winter.

I don't because I have mine winterized, wrapped and stored out of water.  But I wanted to mention that I have heard people using a simple incandescent light bulb to act as a heater for below decks.

I think any thing that can break and cause a spark would be dangerous. Even a household heater in a bilge area with possible fuel fumes is a bad idea.
    Thanks anyway, Dave

I have not had any experience with this items.  It does not sound like a good idea to me.
