OK, as drug home, 1992 226 Fun Deck

Since I wanted a boat strictly for crappie fishing, I wanted a large flat deck with lots of room, and little in the way of creature comforts. So, the demo begins.
Someone must have used seacast (or similar), so it took cutting out a section of the motorwell to get the deck off.

I removed roughly 1200 pounds of waterlogged foam, naturally, everything in the back half of the hull was rotten.

Even the deck sheeting was rotten, as were the deck supports.
Whoever installed the front livewell, cut-out the bow stringers. This came into play later when I had to trim 1.5" off the top of the hull at the bow to allow the deck to set level again. Of course the stringers were replaced and livewell eliminated.

I'd be curious as to why they built this boat with what appears to be scrap pieces of sheeting, as opposed to larger sheets. Regardless, it all came off.

Everything went back twice as thick. Like they say "Overkill is underrated".
Underside of deck got 3/4" (instead of the 1/2" used initially).

Additional bracing under deck at ski locker area, which will be where the center console will eventually set.
Remember I said I trimmed 1.5" from the bow profile? Here's the start of the re-profile. Boat was a mess for sure, but was exactly what I was looking for.

Basically built a platform that mimicked the trailer bunks
and slid the hull off the trailer right onto the base
Which let me start on the trailer, it had been butchered too. I converted the back vertical side rollers to bunks.

Re-foaming entire hull with layers of 4" polystyrene (which won't absorb water), and have more flotation now than when new.

Started on cage to flip hull
Started "jamming" paint on trailer so fenders can go back on after they're repaired and straightened.
Replaced damaged tongue on trailer, and new brake actuator

Last of deck sheeting epoxied down. The deck has a 4" drop, so I built a stud wall to fit inside/under the deck to support the weight of the steel plates.

Deck was a mess to day the least, all holes were filled.
And hatches added in rear corners for start and accessory batteries under the deck.
